I have run some ZUMBA lessons with my ZUMBA partner Megumi at Southport Community Centre and Lynne Richardson Community Centre (Molendinar).

As a result of our discussion, we have decided to work separately.

Megumi is planning a new job from next year and I think the job as a fitness instructor should basically be run by just one instructor, not 2 or 3, except for event lessons and joint lessons.

From September 2014,

I (Mayumi) will run Tuesday’s ZUMBA @ Southport Community Centre, 9:30-10:15am.　→

And she (Megumi) will run Wednesday’s ZUMBA @ Lynne Richardson Community Centre, 9:30-10:15.　→

It has been 6 months since I started the lessons with her, which was a short period of time, but we have learned a lot of things from each other. I really appreciate her.

From now on, we will hold some joint lessons.

Yesterday I met 22 girls from St. Hilda School. I ran a ZUMBA lesson as part of their training of 3 day rowing camp with my ZUMBA partner Megumi.

The lesson offer was given suddenly 2 days before that, which was a great opportunity for us.

Over 30 people joined our Milky Way ZUMBA lesson yesterday, 8/07/2014.

Everyone enjoyed dancing in yellow. In Japan, the image of Milky Way is yellow because of lot’s of stars.

Little ones were shining like stars!! They were so gorgeous!!

Megumi and I wore the costumes like this, Megumi was Hikoboshi and I was Orihime.

I think my Monday’s Zumba class is gradually getting more multicultural, which makes me happy 🙂

Yesterday was the first anniversary of my first ZUMBA lesson on the Gold Coast in Australia.

It takes me back to that time.

Honestly speaking, I hadn’t thought I could keep doing my lessons.

At first, I started slowly.

I advertised at TAFE where I was studying English and in a local Japanese newspaper.

I want to thank my Japanese friends who helped me ( through homesickness) to gain enough courage to use English in front of a group of native English speakers.

Now I have 5 ZUMBA lessons, 1 ZUMBA Step lesson, 1 Step lesson and 2 Hip Hop lessons a week!!

It’s all thanks to the people who have been supporting me.

I really love ZUMBA, as it makes people happy regardless of nationality and language.

One lady always gives me a chocolate every lesson.

It’s a way of letting many more people know understand Autism in the world.

The symptoms of Autism are different depending on patients.

What is Autism?

Every person with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is different to another and has their own way of seeing the world, which makes them interesting and unique.

ASD impacts all areas of a person’s life and how they cope in everyday situations.

• difficulty understanding what you say;
• difficulty with eye contact and other nonverbal body language such as gestures and facial expression;
• difficulty telling you what they want or need;
• difficulty making conversation;
• tendency to take things literally;
• being awkward and ill at ease in a social situation;
• unusual responses to sensory input including intense interest in or intense aversions to certain textures, sounds, movements, tastes or visual patterns or lights;
• unusual or challenging behaviours in response to their confusion and stress;
• significant learning difficulties;
• outstanding skills in certain areas;
• preoccupation with certain objects, topics, etc;
• repetitive behaviours (such as hand flapping, body rocking, or finger flicking);
• always wanting to do certain things the same way or to keep things the same;

Yesterday’s schedule was hard for me, but I felt happy.

Firstly I ran my ZUMBA lesson 8:30-9:30 am at Bundall, and I got to Pimpama Uniting Church at around 10:30.

This free community event was held for charity enterprise for reconstruction assistance.

We enjoyed the ZUMBA lesson and KID’S HIP HOP lesson with funky kids!!

Children’s high adaptability always surprises me so much.

They got used to my choreography easily.

In 2 hours we raised $755.35!!
