This video is the last time we performed at Chinatown Street Markets on the 7th of October 2017.
This was the third time that we performed at Gold Coast Multicultural Festival which is held every year (Japanese page 日本語ページ → マルチカルチュラルフェスティヴァル 2017 )
SWAN FITNESS is a mixture of adult and child dance performers. Adult performers are joining a lesson held on Saturday morning at Southport Community Centre. The lesson is based on Hip Hop including Lock dance and Jazz dance etc.

Child performers are from 2 education groups which are concentrating their efforts on Japanese education, Sakura Gakuen Japanese School and Mebae Little Seedlings Family Day Care. The 2 groups of children worked and danced together.

13 people joined the commemorable first lesson. This lesson is focused on exercises and stretching muscles around pelvis, but now can change at participants’ requests.

The lesson is designed for mothers who have little babies and run for using a baby carrier.
The first lesson was held on the 15th of May. Surprisingly all the babies fell asleep during the lesson. Thanks, all mums & bubs!
As a long time has passed since I gave birth and I wanted to understand young mothers’ situation and feeling even for just a bit, I put a 5 kg dumbbell in my carrier with a stuffed animal.
Actually a few babies are over 8 kg, so I will try a 7 kg dumbbell the next time.
The choreography is not hard compared with ZUMBA lessons I usually run and doesn’t include high impact movements, but I sweated more than I thought I would.
I could sleep well that night.
Mummy & Bubby Dance gave me a good deep sleep, not only babies♡♡♡
A fulfilling time with Masayo finished. She came from Japan and stayed on the Gold Coast for 6 days. (Japanese page 日本語ページ→ゴールドコーストでワークショップを開く)
She has over 15 years fitness instructor experience, teaching ZUMBA, aerobics, Pilates and Yoga in Japan. She is a personal trainer as well.
She not only instructed a few ZUMBA lessons, but also performed at an event with me on the Gold Coast.
She opened a workshop of Pilates as well.
As lots of special words are used in the class and we wanted to provide infallible information to the participants, we ran it all in Japanese.
We could get some brilliant feedback from the members like ” I feel so much better”, ” It really helped.” and ” I can do these exercises at home too.”
We are planning the next workshop with an interpreter. Look forward to it.
I really enjoyed other instructor’s workshop this time.

We are going to start a new lesson program for mothers who have little babies.
I am Mayumi, a 16 years experienced fitness instructor teaching aerobics, step, Hip Hop, muscle training classes and ZUMBA.
Through my group exercise lessons, I met lots of mothers who gave up joining the lessons because of their babies. I felt sorry for them every time I saw them.
I understand young mothers’ impatience. They may think that they have to go on a diet.
I remember the time when I could get back into my job after my childbirth. My son was 2 months old then.
I really appreciate my mother who took care of my son.
I think it is a bit hard for mothers whose mothers don’t live close but have babies to exercise outside.
So I am going to start a new program.

Yesterday one ZUMBA® instructor came from Melbourne to the Gold Coast in the morning (15 Oct 2016).

I came to know Yuki through Facebook. It’s a small world. One of my assistant members used to join Yuki’s lessons in Melbourne when she had lived in Melbourne and moved to the Gold Coast.
Through the assistant member, Yuki and I connected last year, but we met yesterday for the first time directly.
I’ve never seen a ZUMBA® instructor like Yuki who is eager in pursuing ZUMBA® and has desire to improve herself before, which made me go back to basics.
Yuki joined Natsuko’s Freestyle Dance Lesson too.
After the lessons, we had a petite lunch party with beer and spent meaningful time♪

We are running 2 ZUMBA® lessons which have childminding separated from the lesson room. Safe for both mums & kids/ bubs!
We would like to invite them to our lessons with a special price during the school holidays (17 September 2016- 3 October 2016).

Bookings of both ZUMBA® lesson and childminding are needed for Sakura Gakuen mums & kids’ first joining.
(usual price: $7 each for ZUMBA®+ $3 per child for childminding = total $10 )
In case of joining without kids/bubs, $3 per mum.
This invitation is limited to one time during the school holidays.
If you bring more than 2 children, the childminding charge is $3 per child.
On the booked day, please detach the invitation ticket on the perforated line and bring it.
For the sake of safety and concentration of both adult members and children, all children under 10 years old must stay in the childminding area even if the children don’t need the childminding. To be fair, the entrance charge for all children is $3 per child. We will provide a small present for the children who don’t need childminding. Thank you for your understanding.
